Haunted Review - Nightmare Forest

Apologies in advance for no pics, I didn't think I was going to be right a review, lol.

I (Ash) decided to hit up Nightmare Forest with the hubby and adopted sister on opening night, 9/17. We arrived, got in line to buy tickets, and made our purchase. They have three levels of tickets now, the General Admission (GA), Speed Pass (SP), and VIP which let's you bypass the GA and SP ticket holders and cut to the front of the line. We didn't feel like paying almost $200 for three VIP tickets ($60 a piece), so we opted for the SP at $40 a pop.

Okay, that was WORTH IT. We waited maybe 10-15 min before we got in, verses what looked like a 2 hour wait. I think I'll splurge on the SP moving forward!

So, I'll start with set design. You can tell a lot of time, effort, and money went into set design and planning. A lot of the rooms and scenes very closely resembles some of my favorite movies. You get to see classics like Nightmare on Elm St, Halloween, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and incorporates newer movies as well as others you don't expect, such as IT, Thirteen Ghosts, and Alien. It was cool set design, I gotta give props here. (Hehe, get it? Props? Set design? Hehe.)

Next up, actors. Some of these guys were IN their elements. They did a great job of not breaking character, even when I..um..made inappropriate comments. (My apologies to the guy I creeped out when I told him his weapon was kinky. We had a terrified first timer and I was trying to distract her before she had a panic attack!) There were a couple of instances where the actors didn't seem to into it. Gotta call out the Jackal for a fabulous scare. All around it was very entertaining.

I was overall really pleased with this year's performance. You expect some kinks and hiccups on opening night, but everything seemed to go near flawlessly.

Overall, I have to say this was a fantastic start to the Haunted House season, and I give it five out of five stars! Great job, everyone!!
