We arrived, got in line to buy tickets, and made our purchase. They have three levels of tickets now, the General Admission (GA), Speed Pass (SP), and VIP which let's you bypass the GA and SP ticket holders and cut to the front of the line. We didn't feel like paying almost $200 for three VIP tickets ($60 a piece), so we opted for the SP at $40 a pop. </p><p>Okay, that was WORTH IT. We waited maybe 10-15 min before we got in, verses what looked like a 2 hour wait. I think I'll splurge on the SP moving forward!</p><p>So, I'll start with set design. You can tell a lot of time, effort, and money went into set design and planning. A lot of the rooms and scenes very closely resembles some of my favorite movies. You get to see classics like Nightmare on Elm St, Halloween, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and incorporates newer movies as well as others you don't expect, such as IT, Thirteen Ghosts, and Alien. It was cool set design, I gotta give props here. (Hehe, get it? Props? Set design? Hehe.)</p><p>Next up, actors. Some of these guys were IN their elements. They did a great job of not breaking character, even when I..um..made inappropriate comments. (My apologies to the guy I creeped out when I told him his weapon was kinky. We had a terrified first timer and I was trying to distract her before she had a panic attack!) There were a couple of instances where the actors didn't seem to into it. Gotta call out the Jackal for a fabulous scare. All around it was very entertaining. </p><p>I was overall really pleased with this year's performance. You expect some kinks and hiccups on opening night, but everything seemed to go near flawlessly. </p><p>Overall, I have to say this was a fantastic start to the Haunted House season, and I give it five out of five stars! Great job, everyone!! </p>Ash Torbeckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07115227673822415273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3263505209778591786.post-71202944943931359242022-09-24T14:16:00.004-04:002022-09-24T14:16:19.987-04:00Guess Who's Back?!<p>Hey yo!! We have fantastic news: we are reviving the blog! After a long hiatus (thank you, COVID), the time had come to start reviewing again. Plus, we are hitting up haunted houses already and decided what the hell, let's bring it back to the blog again! So stay tuned, our first review is coming up soon!!</p><p><br /></p><p>-Ash</p>Ash Torbeckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07115227673822415273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3263505209778591786.post-48329362791225134612021-10-03T22:59:00.002-04:002021-10-03T22:59:25.360-04:00<p> Haunted Review – Malice Manor</p><p><br /></p><p>Ah, sweet October. She’s here at last! And you know what that means, right? Damn straight you do! It’s time to go out in search of terror and screams as we review the local haunted attractions! Up first for the 2021 season is a first for us – Malice Manor in southern Indiana!</p><p><br /></p><p>Okay, so first off, not gonna lie, it didn’t really LOOK like a haunt when we pulled up. It looked more like a dive bar or restaurant, or maybe even an arcade or something. We didn’t see any signage driving up or anywhere except on the front of the building. (Regrettably, I have very few pics to share, and none of the outside, I’m sorry for that!)</p><p><br /></p><p>So, we go in, buy our tickets at the ticket booth, and while waiting in line to buy tix they had a Friday the 13th movie playing on one wall and that kinda got us hopeful. Then we made it into the next room into the line and at first the line was moving along at a decent pace. But we had time to check out some of the décor, and it was pretty spiffy! The line was created by a white “wrought iron” fence made of what we guessed was mostly PVC pipe, but it looked great in the dark lighting and strobe, especially with artificial ivy draped on it, you almost felt like it was a real fence and you could be outside! There was an awesome fountain – warning, it’s real water, lol! One member of our group thought it was fake and touched it, then was startled to find it was actually running water. </p><p><br /></p><p>We finally got up what looked like the halfway point after about 20-30 minutes – not too shabby, considering the number of people there. That’s when things got interesting. Or to be more accurate, they got…boring. Very, very boring. Because the line movement basically stopped. It took us about an hour to move about halfway to the end of the line from that point, then well over another hour to make it the rest of the way. Why? Because they were sending almost nothing but fast pass groups through. I get it. These folks paid extra so they don’t have to wait in forever long lines. I really do understand that. But the rest of us paying general admission still paid good money, and paying $25 to wait 3 hours is a bit ridiculous. And watching people who shelled out an extra $15 wait 5-15 minutes really makes it look like the regular joe’s like us are far less important. It’s not always about the almighty dollar. Plus, the CONSTANT strobe light effects for that long gave three of our group a splitting headache. Props to the actors and employees that can deal with those strobes all night, but for those of us not used to it, that was agony. Not to mention there were no actors to entertain us, no movie playing where it would have been more appreciated, and no entertainment at all. </p><p><br /></p><p>Also, please clean your floors. Us regular joes were exhausted and needed a seat, and since none are available, we had to sit on your floor. It smells like rotten cheeseburgers, feet, and mold. And urine. I don’t think that’s from fear, but more because there are no bathroom options for 3 hours…that’s a long time to make people wait to pee. Not to mention the lack of air circulation made for some serious BO and swamp ass situations from some of your patrons. I gotta admit, the smells are far from pleasant, and if that’s part of the “experience” being provided, could someone please rethink that avenue?</p><p><br /></p><p>So, we finally get our turn, they take our picture, and we head in. Creepy Ambrose welcomed us, gave us the backstory about Alice, and directed us where to go from there. Which I won’t give away, but if you have arthritic knees, maybe bring a drink and some ibuprofen to take beforehand, lol. </p><p><br /></p><p>Now, I do need to give some massive props to the…uh…props department, lol. Props, set décor, quality of the scenery, everything was realistic looking and high quality. Set design is always a big deal for me, and I really appreciate the effort that went into creating every room. </p><p><br /></p><p>There was one part of the haunt that I will admit I did NOT like, at all. I don’t enjoy any level of pain, and that includes being electrocuted, even with a “minor” shock. My skin is incredibly sensitive and that shit HURT. Considering we had NO option other than to feel our way to navigate the tight corners and sharp turns in the pitch black darkness, to have my fingers and arm go numb almost up to my elbow was not appreciated by the two of us that got shocked. I will never ever appreciate pain. And I wasn’t shy about announcing that either. My apologies for the stream of obscenities that flew out of my mouth that night, I was pretty furious with that part. </p><p><br /></p><p>Okay, so that vent is over. Moving on. The actors were really good and gave it their all. There were a lot of empty rooms, but as with most other haunts in the area, they are hiring so I feel they were short on actors and had to leave some rooms empty. I can’t fault them for that, everyone is struggling. I won’t go on my soapbox about the employment/unemployment status of our country, but I will say if you need a job, they are out there, even seasonal, and I encourage people to step outside their comfort zones and try something new. Help these haunts reach their full potential.</p><p><br /></p><p>I also have to touch on one room in particular. Without giving anything away, one of my greatest fears was disturbingly abundant in one certain area. I saw what was coming and pushed a couple folks in front of me, knowing I was going to be scared half to death. I was not wrong. I cowered behind my friends screaming. Then something happened that has legitimately NEVER happened to me before in any haunt. Ever. I literally blacked out from fear. One minute I was cowering behind a friend, there were a few fleeting flashes of beating egg sacs out of my way, then I was ahead of the group in a room with dangling bodies. Apparently, I freaked, told my friends to hurry because they were going too slow, pushed past them and told them to get the fuck out of my way, and ran. Now, I’m going by what I was told, because I have zero memory of this. At all. So well done, Malice Manor, in my first ever blackout that didn’t involve the inability to breathe due to asthma related issues. That…was disturbing. </p><p><br /></p><p>I got excited at one point, thinking I was gonna get a shot, hoping for some rum. For the record, it doesn’t matter what you order, you’re getting the wet n wild, and let’s just hope you don’t melt, hehe. I was a little sad I didn’t get my hot n horny or my rum, but that was hilarious. Also, the drag queen was so great, I loved them!! That hair and dress were so fancy, I loved everything about that character!</p><p><br /></p><p>The very last scene that is kind of cliché among many haunts at that stage of the game was kind of disappointing, BUT it could have been due to the lack of actors. It admittedly takes a LOT to scare me with a chainsaw, but a couple of the folks in my group fear them and barely jumped. </p><p><br /></p><p>So yeah, this was a long review. There was a lot to be said, both in the positive and in the negative. And with it being my first time at this haunt, I wanted to be thorough.</p><p><br /></p><p>For props, scenery, design, etc., I definitely give this 5 stars. That was really well done and well thought out.</p><p>For scares, I have to give it 4 stars. The fact that I blacked out in fear should have been an automatic 5 star, but there were a LOT of boo scares, jumping out at us, and that really isn’t scary, it’s startling. There were also some funny scenes, that weren’t scary at all, BUT please don’t take that as a negative. The sandwich thing was freakin great, and the belly bumping! </p><p><br /></p><p>I don’t think I’ve ever had to include wait time in a review before, but it was so painful (literally) that I felt it needed to be rated. I must give this a 1 star. I don’t dislike this haunt, please don’t get that twisted, but the length of time, the heat, the lack of any entertainment, the unpleasant smells, the dirty floors, and the overall frustration this caused was just not worth the price of admission for a 20 minute walk through the haunt, I don’t care how good the haunt itself is. I have to add that in because of how strong of an impression that part left on me. My legs and feet still hurt almost 24 hours later. </p><p><br /></p><p>Overall score: 4 stars. Our group really had a fantastic time, once we finally got through the line. It was scary, it was funny, it was entertaining. If the line situation were improved, I can easily see this haunt scoring 5 stars on future visits. I really hope to be able to give them a higher score next time, I want them to stick around for many years!</p><p><br /></p><div>Also...pics to come later, my phone is being obstinate. :) </div>Ash Torbeckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07115227673822415273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3263505209778591786.post-22292613285730370672019-10-17T09:56:00.003-04:002019-10-17T09:56:53.171-04:00The Devil's Attic - Review by Ash<div style="text-align: center;">
<h2>
Welcome to Hell...</h2>

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY26h6Hxzpk5KGJx7C-4XkrjWnG90NeKOKKHKFAA9a5DEPeWJeBPCv4pu0oDXmUurtLE8k_LvXCFag3AzpmPIPCp8AMfzP0vO0lUOUH52sGWCsjeyowcEamkameT7i1vmrxMmxGd3Nph6M/s1600/Hell.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="667" data-original-width="1000" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY26h6Hxzpk5KGJx7C-4XkrjWnG90NeKOKKHKFAA9a5DEPeWJeBPCv4pu0oDXmUurtLE8k_LvXCFag3AzpmPIPCp8AMfzP0vO0lUOUH52sGWCsjeyowcEamkameT7i1vmrxMmxGd3Nph6M/s640/Hell.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay, so we may not have ACTUALLY descended into Hell, but it sure felt like it. For starters, let me just say we visited here once many moons back (like, 3 or 4 years or so?), and we went on a crappy night. It was raining, it was dreary, and we got stuck going with a YOUNG kid that was probably too young to be going there (parents, please understand, just because your young one likes scary stuff on TV doesn't mean they are ready for this intensity) screaming and crying, and it ruined the experience. So we were admittedly a little biased and skeptical upon arrival, but hey, we'd both had LONG days and we really needed this excitement.<br />

The line was already long at 8pm when they opened, and we went up to buy our tickets. Done. We went through the security (my ass made it beep - I only hope it was the button on my pocket!) and waited our turn. The actors in line were spectacular! Pig Man (idk his real name, this is what I'm calling him) got me FIVE full times, and got Kayla four! He was awesome, his costume was incredible, and I was overall impressed. (Ignore my weird face...lol!)<br />
<br />
After the characters in the line had their fun with us, we had a photo op with some interesting props, and apparently everyone thinks I was way too excited about getting to decapitate Kayla. What do you guys think?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
A big thank you to Esther, the crazed photographer, for not only communicating with us and showing us a Hell of a welcome (haha, get it?) but for taking a wicked pic and for making us go in alone. Normally we adopt a couple or a group to go in with us, but we got singled out at this haunt. Lucky us...or was it?<br />
<br />
We're led inside, and I meet my future employer. He doesn't know it yet, but according to some of the stuff I say, I get told frequently I'm going to Hell. Might as well take the full tour now and get ready for it, right?! His costume and makeup are impeccable. Honestly, when we walked in, I kinda thought...well, nevermind. You'll see when you go, and trust me when I say you NEED to go.<br />
<br />
So we're led further into Hell, and for a no-touch haunt, these guys and gals really know how to scare the ever-loving piss out of you! Between the set design and the makeup, the props, and of course the undeniable talent of the actors, you really get your money's worth on this one! There are a few horror movie scenes, and walking into some of them, you recognize the films but don't always know what to expect. Uncle Frank had a thing for us, though, and genuinely creeped me TF out! Everything was SO over the top. Oh! And let's not forget, you'll get lost. Which way do you go? Oops, nope, that's a scary monster, let's try again. Nope, not this one either! Holy Hell, there is no way out!! AAHHHH!!!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisNAFd25umE_cOJI42B9YrraZhpnAR1XK6RUwlYyDAcOZmWdhqUmmb0s30YpsmBjLgvA-MXNkJEC8wuH0HhrUrXjai2DP3bFSzvb8D_6mzxcrXviZxo5I2m34U4MxPQO4-Vj8UlhXzCh5x/s1600/DSC_0252.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="904" data-original-width="1600" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisNAFd25umE_cOJI42B9YrraZhpnAR1XK6RUwlYyDAcOZmWdhqUmmb0s30YpsmBjLgvA-MXNkJEC8wuH0HhrUrXjai2DP3bFSzvb8D_6mzxcrXviZxo5I2m34U4MxPQO4-Vj8UlhXzCh5x/s400/DSC_0252.JPG" width="400" /></a>It was nonstop from beginning to end. No time to catch your breath, no time to calm your racing heart, and by the time you finally reach the end, you kind of accept the fact that you are never gonna leave this place. This was a MASSIVE improvement over our last experience years ago, and major kudos to the whole team for really scaring the shit out of us. I screamed so much I lost my voice until Monday morning. (Just in time for work...yay.)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Again, another obvious 5 star haunt. If you've never been you need to go. If you've already been, go again.<br />
<br />
Phew! TWO five star haunts so far this season! (Well, technically three, but two were at the same place.) What is next?!<br />
<br />

Partially because I'm freakin busy as hell, and partially because I was torn on posting it at all. BUT in the end, I decided to go ahead and post it with a preface.<br />
<br />
As luck would have it, we visited the Legend at Pope Lick on a really really off night. Half the cast and crew had called out, people were scrambling to fill in, and things were really not a normal night. We didn't know this going in, nor did the other visitors that night, and likely as not they had the same experience. So given that, I do want to say we were hoping to find time in our review schedule to go through again and give this haunt a second chance, but our schedules simply won't allow that. There are too many haunts, too little time, and too many other obligations going on. Here's what I experienced - again, not the norm, so we are told!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3xofQV7kZFHbEn3Q655fN6Xzdcx6v2hk2AJt2TxIzdkeV_NFJ0fXnGVPkJMVcPcxbm9MG3edJEH5ABlcaubPfwOvKH9iLJxe2Zg3FIzI3cgZ3KyfYWPAqDNXV2giEJO6FS45vZr2JjU2y/s1600/Pope+Lick.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="316" data-original-width="542" height="373" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3xofQV7kZFHbEn3Q655fN6Xzdcx6v2hk2AJt2TxIzdkeV_NFJ0fXnGVPkJMVcPcxbm9MG3edJEH5ABlcaubPfwOvKH9iLJxe2Zg3FIzI3cgZ3KyfYWPAqDNXV2giEJO6FS45vZr2JjU2y/s640/Pope+Lick.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">(side note: I do not own these images, I pulled them from Google)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
For starters, this haunt got some really great reviews, which is part of the reason why we wanted to visit anyway. I really wanted to love this haunt. Unfortunately though, it fell short of our expectations, and given the circumstances we can see why.</div>
<br />
To begin, we parked and weren't even sure we were in the right place. there was very little lighting, a concssion stand, and little else to indictate a haunted house existed there. We made our way to the concession stand and stood in line since there was no other signage or indication of where to go. The lady running the counter said if we weren't buying snacks we could go on to the haunt and pointed to my right. We turned, took a few steps, but still there was no signage or anything to guide us. Finally a gentleman stood up with a flashlight and pointed with it to a sidewalk WAYYYYY down the way and said to follow it to the haunt.<br />
<br />
Um. Okay.<br />
<br />
We crossed the grass in the dark praying it didn't have any holes for us to fall or stumble in until we reached the concrete path. We walked...and walked...and walked...until it finally turned into gravel. Then we walked...and walked...and finally made it to a path between trees that turned out to be the entrance to the haunt. It was not very prominent and an unexpectedly LONG walk to get there.<br />
<br />
We stood in line for a bit, there was one actor hanging out with us in the short line so it helped it to not seem as long as it was. We were handed a flashlight between the three of us and led inside.<br />
<br />
I do need to say this: PLEASE step carefully. One flashlight between three people means one person can see okay, one person can see a little bit, and one person is following blindly. I know, because we alternated who was in front/middle/back and who had the flashlight. The path through the woods is not well lit, so those without the flashlight are going to stumble a bit.<br />
<br />
We did meet a dentist who was more interested in making us laugh than scream, it appeared. And there was one scene that absolutely horrified me. Not due to the acting, because I never even saw her. She made no move to try and take advantage of my phobia and elicit more screams. I ended up charging through it in about six steps and on to the next scene.<br />
<br />

There were very few actors that night, and we understand that is not the norm. But it was still very obvious when we saw actors running between sets and scenes, and most of the actors seemed disinterested. Then the object of the haunt - what the whole haunt was supposed to be about - was an absolute letdown. There was a deafening sound, the goat man popped out and roared at us, then went back into hiding.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
What the Hell? There's this whole epic story line with so much promise and potential, and he literally pops out to say boo and goes away, leaving us feeling nothing more than slightly startled and annoyed.<br />
<br />
We had an equally long walk back to our car, that seemed to take forever. There were so many things that went wrong with this night, from start to finish. No signage or lights pointing us in the right direction, too long of a hike to get there, not enough scares, not enough light or lighting options, no real interest in scaring us, and another long hike to get back.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRBNwJi5sOeQAh2VSEsopb78n02F3JCQqDrVbT49PxRAfUwb7qPiPdHCc5OFZjFRlrAjpns3fPJBs5I2J2ZlGBKaH5pUIVPCq3wfShyphenhyphenAdcwAHD5kZC06g4lJYW7t18fiVGzPsQstSNE2EF/s1600/White_Baboon_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="562" data-original-width="1000" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRBNwJi5sOeQAh2VSEsopb78n02F3JCQqDrVbT49PxRAfUwb7qPiPdHCc5OFZjFRlrAjpns3fPJBs5I2J2ZlGBKaH5pUIVPCq3wfShyphenhyphenAdcwAHD5kZC06g4lJYW7t18fiVGzPsQstSNE2EF/s320/White_Baboon_2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
There were some positives - I know I've only focused on the negatives so far, but really I'm just being honest there. The scenery that I could see looked to be well thought out and put together. It was too hard to see the quality in a lot of places, so I can't speak to that. The costumes we did see were pretty fly for the characters the actors were portraying, except for the Goat Man. (I honestly thought it was one of those weird white baboons at first.)<br />
<br />
While it wasn't the world's most detestable haunt, Legend at Pope Lick really missed the mark on this night in a lot of ways. I'm sorry to say this, for me, was only a 2 star haunt.<br />
<br />
Now, please take that with a grain of salt. I know sometimes things happen that are outside your control, and that is unfortunate. I am absolutely willing to visit again next year (or if the fates allow, I might revisit this year) and I fully expect a different experience, similar to the ones others are getting already. I think this was a fluke, and not the experience everyone else will suffer.<br />

But don't worry. The events that unfolded that night are burned into my brain...which I thought was going to end up as a spare part for the doctors to play with.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN4n9kFKeMdHy-DaekHn1aenwKt_-0qNGTH4Yyng95ywJNVmR76Ciu3ppwMII4xPMTGKqU09AX55uP-9ISsBumQNc5uJD5F-jFfdYiYsDkrNjoYyKgER-jyc_N0aYHCqjfuJ97ULVZldq9/s1600/American+Horrorplex.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="237" data-original-width="921" height="164" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN4n9kFKeMdHy-DaekHn1aenwKt_-0qNGTH4Yyng95ywJNVmR76Ciu3ppwMII4xPMTGKqU09AX55uP-9ISsBumQNc5uJD5F-jFfdYiYsDkrNjoYyKgER-jyc_N0aYHCqjfuJ97ULVZldq9/s640/American+Horrorplex.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So, Invasive. Yeah. Invasive is definitely a MILD way to put what we went through in that place. We got these nifty little safety vests and made our way inside. So far, everything seems normal. But once inside and the door closes, all bets are off! I have been going to the dentist pretty frequently to fix my jacked up teeth over the last couple of years so thankfully I wasn't too terrified...until he wanted one of mine for his collection. Nah, I'm good, you don't need these, they're bad. What's that? Nope, don't want one of yours either!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
NEXT!<br />
<br />
<br />
Okay, so the dentist wanted our teeth. But the next assault by creatures wanted ALL OUR SPARE PARTS. And they didn't want to let us go till they got one. Yikes!! The actors in this haunt are all up in your personal space, pulling you one way then the other, sending what's left of any hope of escape right out the window. By the way...where are the windows? Where are the doors? Oh my gosh, I don't even see any way out!!<br />
<br />
I won't offer up any other spoilers, but here's the thing. It's the same haunt, the same actors, the same scenes. Only this time, you do NOT get a chance to breathe. You are quarantined, separated from your group, lost, baptized, and OHMYGODDIDTHEYJUSTPUTTHATINTHEIRMOUTHS?! I don't think that was safe for human consumption! (Maybe they're...not quite...human??) You'll go to church and lose your faith as well as your sanity. Don't forget to take your medicine (like you have a choice?), and OHMYGODTHEY'RESTILLCOMINGAFTERUS!!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9CfWfctadhY9eULAbi94ITpGlYNH-39APahrnFWz3_cpviULZk7Z79iICQMcTRX68wVkzHrJxqH2X0DLeT92Kqu5A43wPJbJ2imqbXa1x7-sB7LEv32cLFPlOp-jr5mTfgyxFfM3RsAYz/s1600/FB_20191005_225230.mp4" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1280" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9CfWfctadhY9eULAbi94ITpGlYNH-39APahrnFWz3_cpviULZk7Z79iICQMcTRX68wVkzHrJxqH2X0DLeT92Kqu5A43wPJbJ2imqbXa1x7-sB7LEv32cLFPlOp-jr5mTfgyxFfM3RsAYz/s320/FB_20191005_225230.mp4" width="320" /></a><br />
I really can't say much else without giving stuff away, and trust me, you don't wanna have this experience spoiled for you. Just know that even though this is the same haunt, this is NOT the same experience at all, and if you're not too chicken, you need this in your life.<br />
<br />
By the way, did I mention THEY PUT THAT IN THEIR MOUTHS!! That is one tea party I want no part of!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Obviously 5 stars. I'd give it more if I could, honestly! The owners have really stepped up the haunted house game and set a HIGH standard for the others to reach. Can't wait to see what comes next from this new yet absolutely horrifying haunt in the coming years!<br />

If you're reading this, it means 2 things.<br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>We survived the haunt and lived to tell about it</li>
<li>You're here to find out our take on the Black Orchard haunt in Shelbyville</li>
</ol>
<div>
The night was dark and a strange funky smell hung in the air. I'm not sure if it was intentional or just some surrounding funk...or maybe it was fear? Either way, we made our way down the hill - be careful! It's uneven and downhill, and if you have my impressive grace, you could be risking life and limp before you even get inside. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We stood in line as the only ones in line for a short bit, chitchatting with the crazed locals, before being led inside by the Butcher. Now, I will say this: the butcher was friendly and all, and he was knowledgeable telling us about what to expect, but his role seemed a little clunky and awkward. Like, I get it, you need the intro, but the scenery and props weren't exactly believable, his character seemed unnecessary, and honestly, they could've given us the rules outside where there was at least a little more air to breathe. Maybe that was just me, and it's not a stab at the actor, but it just seemed a little pointless. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On we go. I purposely stayed in the back to see how well they did with scaring the group (there were only 3 of us, so it wasn't that much to deal with) but real talk - they only really focused on the first two and I watched the others get scared while I laughed my way through. It was more funny to me than scary. The scares were solely based on the BOO factor - they jump out and scare you then go back for the most part. I think Kayla made a new friend, and our third member for the night may have made a new boyfriend, but overall the scares weren't really up to our expectations. It's possible we hit them on a bad night, and these things DO happen. But I wouldn't feel I were being true to the blog or our purpose if I didn't tell the truth and share our real experiences. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The haunt was entertaining, but it wasn't all that scary. I feel like it could have been a real success but some of the rooms were empty and some were lackluster. The whole group didn't get the same experience, and there wasn't a lot of actual fear to be had. Gotta give this one 3 stars. Sorry guys, but it just didn't live up to our previous experience. We expected more, but we'll try again next year.</div>

5 Stars</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In its inaugural year, on only its second night alive (if you can call what's in there "alive"), American Horrorplex catapults you into a twisted night of terror. And you're lucky if you make it out alive and without contamination.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sure, the line was long - here is a good time to buy the VIP pass and skip the line. I tend to feel that way about most places cause I'm an impatient brat, but I think you're gonna want to get to the good stuff faster. Spring for it if you can.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There are two different experiences at American Horrorplex: the regular walk-through and the Invasive walk-through. I'll review Invasive later - it's a wholly different experience! For now, I'll focus on our first trip through. </div>

Kayla and I adopted a couple we found fun and thought they would make a great sacrifice - I mean...nevermind. Colton and Trix Yogurt (Robyn), thanks for hanging out with us, first off. Y'all were a blast! Second, omg, I think Robyn made a whole ship full of sailors blush as the spew of newly formed expletives rushed out in every scene! It was fabulous, and y'all were great sports. </div>

In the line, we are treated to the fun talents of Dr. Heart (with a little heart on her lab coat), 47, creepy dude (I'm sure he has a name but for the life of me I don't remember if we ever got it), and the minions. NOT the yellow guys, either. The sounds, sights, and yes, smells, are an adventure all their own. They kept us entertained and the lady who wears her heart on her...outside of her chest...offered us candy. I mean, you're never too old for candy!! Just maybe don't get too close to 47. He is pretty damn convincing that he's not gonna move. DON'T TRUST HIM!! And maybe don't smell his teeth...just my opinion.</div>

Once it's our turn, we're ushered into a cage where the rules and regulations are delivered to us in a German accent. None of us speak German, so the lovely lady switched to English for our benefit. Then we're taken inside and the real fun begins. </div>

Wait, what? No, I need my body parts for myself, thanks! You again?! Kitty? KITTY! Kayla's seen your kitty! (Not that kind, you perv!) Oh shit, someone find his damn kitty! Oh good, a church. Wait. No no no, I don't need this religion! Okay, he's alive, but that guy isn't, is he? Or is he? IS HE??? Why all the banging doors? For the love of God don't let whatever is in there out! Oh, a lady cop, she'll help us - nope! Wrong again! Ooooh, I wanna pull the lever!! No, I don't wanna go in there! Is that poo? Nah...oh, wait...yep, THAT is poo. Oh shit. I'm not going in there. I AM NOT GOING IN THERE!! Damn it, I went in there and no, those are not tears in my eyes. I'm not scaredy-crying, YOU are! I'M NOT STEPPING ON THAT! *Sorry I called you a fucking bitch, Kayla!* Oh look, more hungry people wanna eat us. I'm more popular here than I've ever been! Oh good, a chance to catch our - NOOOPPPEE!!! WTF are y'all?! No, I don't wanna play! Get me outta here!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
Whew! Yeah, I skipped a little bit that Kayla outlined, but omg, you can NOT fit all that we went through into a decent length review. That was nonstop, heart thudding, adrenaline-pumping, scream-inducing assault on our sense of reality and sanity, ending only in the need and desire to GTFO of that place! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The set design was very well thought out and executed, the makeup and costumes were spot-on, and the whole haunt seemed to blur the lines between realism and surrealism. Are you awake? Are you having a nightmare? Is there really a difference at this point?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
All said and done, obviously this haunt gets 5 stars. I can't say one bad thing other than I question the sanity of the creators and developers of this trippy haunt. I'd recommend therapy but I've seen the doctors they hang out with and I'm pretty sure those folks replaced the line between sanity and insanity with a banana ages ago. </div>

But in year 25, the game changed.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Quite literally, SO much was different! On its 25th birthday, Danger Run stepped outside their comfort zone and pushed you to new boundaries. Let's get started, shall we?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay for starters, for those of you who stupidly didn't check the website and find this out, the starting gate at the Dixie location is no more. Don't try it, you'll feel like a donkey. (We did, anyway.) But the Hurstbourne location is still very much up and running, and you can start online. Other than that, I swear I don't remember any other gates, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Just be smart, check before you go!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So you go to the gate, pay your $30, and you get your clue book(s) and a goody bag. Not too shabby! The clues are different this year - instead of 5-line limericks, you have 2 line rhymes. Honestly, while I admit I love the limericks, I like the 2-liner ones too. They were easier to solve with less erroneous information, and yes, I get it, that was the point of the limericks sometimes, but as the night grew later and later, we were happy to have less info to sift through. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
That being said, don't expect this year to be any easier just because the clues are more concise. The simplicity is DECEIVING, I tell you! Some clues are pretty easy, like which way to turn out of the gate. After that though, it gets a little tricky. Not gonna lie, we already missed our turn on clue 2 or 3, y'all. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So the roads. Some of these were creepy AF. What kind of monsters live on these dark terror-filled streets?! (Okay, actually, if I had the money I probably would, it was nice to be able to see stars and not have your neighbors so close you can shake hands through your windows. But that's not what's important.) There were moments when we were convinced we'd gone the wrong way or missed something the clue was telling us to look for. There were times when the clues were worded in such a way you felt like you were naked in a physics class giving a speech on aeronautics when the highest science you'd taken was Bio 1. (Really let that image sink in...) So the clues were pretty epic this year, I give DR so much credit there! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Not to make you panic or anything, but this year there are also missions. Now, perhaps because it was opening weekend and they had some bugs to work out, perhaps our people were new or just tired, but ultimately we were given SLIGHTLY confusing information. Big hint: JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS IN THE CLUE BOOK REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY SAY. We aren't mad at the people, I'm sure they didn't see us pull up and think, "haha, I'm gonna ruin their effing night!" Just a helpful hint for the missions. Anyway, so you follow the directions and either look for landmarks and enter which clue you used to find them, or you simply do as the mission says. There is one on each page, and the clues on the neighboring pages won't affect the missions. It's one page, one mission. And they're FUN! Tricky, confusing, and downright weird, but so much fun. They also include sensory clues. You get to involve your sense of taste, smell, sight, lack of sight, and you also get to play with dice and a special flashlight. This is where your goody bag comes into play. All the stuff you need to solve some of the missions will be in that bag - don't lose or misplace it! This new twist was so fun, and all three of us absolutely loved it. (Have you ever played that game with the jelly beans, Beanboozled? If not, Google it, and if so...well, may the force be with you, my friends!)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But what do these missions MEAN? Why are they a thing? I'm so glad you asked! When you get to each of the haunts, you'll take your clue book to the game master at each site. There, they will see how you did with the clues and the final puzzle at the end of the leg, and you'll get between 1-3 minutes to solve a mini breakout game! These are SO fun, but I will admit, when you're tired, they are HARD to do! The first game was gory and delightful. We loved playing with the...props...lol. You'll really need a HAND to solve this mystery! It was right up our alley and although we were SO CLOSE, we didn't make it out in time. But it was so much fun, and so detailed, and so well thought out...this was definitely a wonderful addition to the Run. I highly recommend you do your best on the missions, though, you need all 3 minutes!! The second one we ALMOST had it. I will fully take responsibility for dropping the ball on this one - I thought the last clue we were looking for was like, stickers, or something. Guys, I was tired. My bad, yo. But seriously, look EVERYWHERE. Even right in front of your face. That's all the spoilers I can afford, but trust me when I say you need this in your life. </div>
<div>

Well, we finally got our answer to this one! We were blessed enough to meet the man behind the madness, the twisted mind behind all the clues, behind the missions, behind the breakout games - a true genius and the real Game Master himself, Garry O'Brien! For starters, this guy is kind of our hero, and we may or may not have been fangirling over meeting him. I'm thinking of starting a fan club...lol. But Garry is one of the brightest and kindest people I've ever met. He was so patient with us explaining how we'd been slightly misled (still not mad, please don't get me wrong here!) and how we should have done it. It was like a light bulb went off when he broke it down for us. It was such a joy to meet with him! We snagged a pic with him at one of the breakout games, and it's a memory we'll treasure for a lifetime. (Okay, we're nerds and we might have a stalker-level problem...)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There's no way this year's Danger Run is earning anything other than 5 stars from me. The haunts operate independently so they will be reviewed separately (see, I told you no spoilers!). But yeah, this year kicked it up several notches, and was so much fun!! 5 stars, y'all, and you deserve every single one! Special thanks to Garry and everyone involved with this year's Run, we had a blast, thanks for the awesome night!<br />

<br />
Stars: 5/5<br />
<br />
<br />
So American Horrorplex is a new haunt in Louisville and Ash and I were eager to visit it.<br />
<br />
The night was clear and the weather great. The line was long but not too long. The staff were very friendly and offered candy and entertainment while we waited. The characters around us while waiting in line were certainly amusing and engaging. 47 and Doctor Heart were just a couple of those that kept our attention. 47 was very friendly and will let you close to him. Though be mindful when he tries to share with you! I wouldn’t recommend sampling what he has to offer. For all we knew it could have been rat poison.<br />
<br />
We met up with a pair of great peeps who after getting to know them in the line, we decided to pair up with them for the first go-through. After being locked in a cage, we were given instructions and rules (no touchy-touchy since there is no cure for whatever has afflicted those within.) As we enter the haunt, we are greeted automatically with some very interesting characters. And some of those will make you jump and scream! The set was realistic and the acting was intense! Don’t trip over the spooks as you delve deeper into the darkness. Don’t let them have your body parts! And they don’t care what body parts you would offer either! Already, I’ve heard so many obscenities from our friends and screams from within our group that I’m laughing my ass off because it’s so damn scary.<br />
<br />
The scare factors are endless and I had hardly no chances to catch my breath in between screams and jumps. Someone just find the damn kitty so I quit getting chased because I think I’m gonna die. Don’t feed them no matter how much they ask! Oh, and they want to take you to church but this scene is one you don’t want to feel so blessed in. The characters rocked our socks off. And the many times we got lost and all the doors. Oh dear lord, all the doors!!! What’s behind them! No. I take that back! I don’t want to know! Nooo!!!! We’re lost again! And there we go again…screaming for our lives! What is that smell???? Death? Nope. Well, maybe a little.<br />
<br />
Don’t get on Officer Daniel’s bad side. I’d recommend you listen to her! Right. Right! Do you dare do as she tells you? You’ll have no choice. Great…an escaped monster is lurking in the dark and we’ve got to go in that direction. Oh shit! They got me again! I keep screaming…it’s so damn scary. Dr. Brackon will explain the details for the next few scenes and he’s very smart and Dr. Frankenstein-ish. What creations lurk ahead of us? God only knows!!! I know I sure don’t want to. We’re forced ahead like cattle and what befalls us, you don’t want to know. Do you have any phobias? If you do, you don’t want to move on. Except you must if you want to get out alive. And just when you think it’s over….more deep dark fears are ready to make you piss your pants! More screaming. More obscenities. I swear if you don’t normally curse…be prepared to say your prayers afterward because cursing like a sailor to combat your intense fears may just make you feel a little better after all the frights that come at you.<br />
<br />
The actors scream, scare, and don’t always leave when you move on to the next set. Yep…they like to follow you! And that shit is terrifying. But we made it out with our lives intact. Don’t think it was easy! With dentists that you don’t want to open your mouth for, padded walls that make you itch get escape, electric worries, blood, poo, psychopaths, and tricky floors, you’ll need all your might if you are to make it to the end.<br />
<br />
<br />
The cast was definitely on top of their game. There weren’t many dead spots so it’s hard to catch your breath in between all the screaming. They were convincing in their scenes and extremely interactive. The creativity behind each scene was detailed and amazing. And the variety was so wide that anyone that enters will find something to be startled and scared by. Their costumes were totally and ridiculously astounding. A good mixture of masks and makeup that were always appropriate for each set we entered. The atmosphere both before we entered the haunt and within were interesting and entertaining. The special effects were just enough. The characters were most interactive and their acting was so on spot that what special effects that were used allowed the hauntees to focus on getting the most out of the story of the scenes and the scares to be had. The theme was carried throughout very well and authenticity was maximized. This haunt had more scare factor than most of the haunts I’ve attended. Predictability was minimal, which is always a plus. I was satisfied 100% with this haunt and I truly didn’t have a negative thing to say about it. I didn’t think it could get better. Yet, it does. When you opt for the invasive haunt. Which we did. Reviews for the invasive haunt coming soon!<br />

<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">“Welcome Home.” </span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">That’s what the concierge promised upon entering the Haunted Hotel. That was spoken ominously right before he led us into the elevator from Hell. Kevin Stich, Owner of Haunted Hotel, as well as all his staff, set the stage for an adventure that gets tweaked and - if you can believe it - perfected with each new season!</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

Darkness in your face, but there’s MORE! Shake, rattle, and scream as you witness through aggressive actors who are super scary and totally nerve-wracking fun! It seems like everything is closing in on you. A great lead up to a scary ride through this haunted hotel. (I loved the new twist!)</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">Be careful. You will likely get touched, poked, prodded, licked, sprayed, and even electrocuted! I screamed so many times! I found myself searching for moments to take a few breaths before having my senses heightened all over again. Things WILL most definitely go boom in the dark! Monsters jump out, follow you, get full on in your face, grab your head, and every little thing is nail-biting intense awesomeness!<span id="m_4716605305428478388gmail-more-1838" style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"></span></span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">Did I mention that this season was absolutely tremendous? The extreme props never let you down. The strobe lights and fog machines force you to stumble and hesitate to take that next step. Because you just KNOW that something is waiting for you. Whether you are the first, middle, or last in your group…there’s something for every single one of you! The engineered scare tactics worked perfectly with the sounds and music building up to the next heart-pounding rush of adrenaline as you scramble to escape each room…wondering what the next one has in store for you. The all original costumes and masks were spectacular. Don’t expect to see anything cliche or on-screen horror crap in the Haunted Hotel.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">I appreciated that there were no long walks of silent boring blah that you will sometimes encounter with hauntings. Nope. You won’t find that hear. You’re lucky if you are given enough time in between scenes to catch your breath, wipe your tears, and think “What the hell am I doing here?” Simply enough seconds to build up the anticipation and make sure you have the shirt of the person in front of you clenched in between your shaking fingers.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaKp_Ko9qo3jLlNHsPgpduX4q2yNjqeIzwQvU3_A3T6IZEHIHwGTsFf7HpwFQsy0KqLhk1_lpVlfaymlqug7xVWIq8A4aKgxgevVu5-YUCoQJaTNxmksVhn4iwc3hGbvtEe2Vf0tSpnJ8G/s1600/Chainsaw.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;"><img border="0" data-original-height="750" data-original-width="1286" height="186" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaKp_Ko9qo3jLlNHsPgpduX4q2yNjqeIzwQvU3_A3T6IZEHIHwGTsFf7HpwFQsy0KqLhk1_lpVlfaymlqug7xVWIq8A4aKgxgevVu5-YUCoQJaTNxmksVhn4iwc3hGbvtEe2Vf0tSpnJ8G/s320/Chainsaw.jpg" width="320" /></span></a><span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">One memorable character I’d like to call out is Cece. She was both cute and monstrous to the point that I didn’t know if I wanted to cuddle her or kill her…before she could end me. And can I just say…those freaking chainsaws! I learned something during this haunt. If you cover your face, it doesn’t make them go away. No. It only encourages them to give you more. They desire your fear! They will lick it up. And if that’s not enough, they will buddy up with another chainsaw chasing terror. Teaming up against you to drain every bit of your fear and tears. Your worst nightmare is their greatest desire.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">Some things were similar to previous seasons; the good things. The scenes that stand the test of time. The changes this season only enhanced the entire experience for me and I would, without a doubt, say that this was the best I’ve encountered compared to previous years. I commend Kevin, his extreme characters, horrific scenery and props, and sinister scaring was truly a remarkable adventure. A lot of hard work goes into creating and making it all work. Showmanship was at 100% throttle. I ran my ass off and screamed a good number of times. It was totally lit.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">The theme of Haunted Hotel is every worst possible nightmare one could ever hope to encounter in a grungy, nasty, horror-filled hotel. And this season was one of the best, in my opinion.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: 16px; font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: magenta;">5 out of 5 Stars for this multi-award winning haunt!</span></div>

<div>
"Welcome home..."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
They were the final words our ears heard before traversing the depths of a hellish nightmare filled with horrors and a panic-infused myriad of rooms at the Haunted Hotel.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay, so before I go any further, anyone who's been keeping up with us knows that we hit some of the same haunts every year, and the Haunted Hotel is one of them. Needless to say, we're familiar with the haunt, but for those who aren't, here's the skinny: </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij92pCS2xZWWx3vWUUOaV1TY4DF6kSbfBx4H8iVSFljn9MSZEVAkUeaWr36QgAkmN8EeOFE6-mJ99q-8AGzQrpGu1m-zwFy1ENoi7UR-AkE_HCu97hjNIZARlzVQ45KLyYa8YLmcxQsYUr/s1600/Extreme.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="163" data-original-width="300" height="108" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij92pCS2xZWWx3vWUUOaV1TY4DF6kSbfBx4H8iVSFljn9MSZEVAkUeaWr36QgAkmN8EeOFE6-mJ99q-8AGzQrpGu1m-zwFy1ENoi7UR-AkE_HCu97hjNIZARlzVQ45KLyYa8YLmcxQsYUr/s200/Extreme.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<ul>
<li>This is an EXTREME haunt. That word is not used lightly or to be some non-literal interpretation of the word (like the word literally no longer literally means literally - look it up, the English language is getting even more complicated, folks!), but it literally means it is extreme. They will touch you. They will grab you. They will push you to your limits. It's physically demanding, and I say this because not only are there stairs to climb and the occasional step up or down, but you might get pushed and pulled and there's a very real chance you'll be running for your life at least once or twice. You're gonna hear some foul language too, so parents, use your judgment on this, and if your kid is sensitive or perhaps too young to hear some things that might make a sailor blush, maybe wait a year or two before you subject them to the Haunted Hotel.</li>
<li>This place is pretty scary. There is a lot of hard work and effort that goes into the haunt every year. The actors are IN YOUR FACE and the scenery might be a little much for some people to handle. I can't stress enough that this place is intense and will make you question your sanity. </li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
Okay, that being said, here is Ash's review of The Haunted Hotel.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbJXt7-vQwk6JYVaDog3crGIbEB3cryhyphenhyphenI4JHYatEOGnOcsJgKeobUzFd1ERRCT2XnIP-vb_ARQediMx86sB5d4Eno1oXj9vd0xNY2dhXQTwBW5sPAb35gf455HYTqIwbfpMlF-AjtwRBW/s1600/Haunted+Hotel+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="373" data-original-width="500" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbJXt7-vQwk6JYVaDog3crGIbEB3cryhyphenhyphenI4JHYatEOGnOcsJgKeobUzFd1ERRCT2XnIP-vb_ARQediMx86sB5d4Eno1oXj9vd0xNY2dhXQTwBW5sPAb35gf455HYTqIwbfpMlF-AjtwRBW/s320/Haunted+Hotel+1.jpg" width="320" /></a>For starters, the outside of the building is already made to creep you out. They have creepers out there mingling with the folks in line, randomly popping up to scare you and sometimes have a good time making you cringe. It does look like a dilapidated building that was once the home of a thriving hotel, so the outside draws you in. Once inside, though, the nightmare begins.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You are greeted by a man who calls you family and welcomes you to your new home. He wants to fix you. If these creations are what's considered being fixed, please leave me broken!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Each room is fully decked out with what can only be a small fortune's worth of convincing props. Seriously, I have to commend owner Kevin Stich for this, I'm definitely a details kind of person, and he delivers in spades. Definitely check out the toilet, it's awesome. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I will say, the lovely young lady with what appears to be a lead pipe or metal pole...did you LICK me?! Omigosh, like, ew! I mean, if not, that's cool too, but you are a pretty adventurous person to be licking people, lol! I was genuinely concerned.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The swamp was a lovely addition, as were a lot of the other changes. The combination of lights and smoke/fog were on point, genuinely disorienting us and building that panic of OMG, what's gonna happen next!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There was a lot of focus on the BOO factor, but it was used well in conjunction with gruesome scenes and high-quality actors. They have this odd way of making you feel like your life is actually in danger. I love it. Many kudos to these guys and gals killing it night after night and never letting us down.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Oh, and by the way, great job building suspense. There was just enough down time for you to let your guard down before a new wave of terror took over. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQtyN8PVDeFdCcXecNOgA6WAWyAIIyhASuyLhyodICSqCrnH_y4l9jI4zKgH6L6Yk-dkix1FIyyS1xvj2VTcSszLPXzAEAKRJtsUWkbk7L3oZvVosueLR92Yz3Nnq8rTfY2ZGW9RFJzylz/s1600/IMG_20170930_212024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQtyN8PVDeFdCcXecNOgA6WAWyAIIyhASuyLhyodICSqCrnH_y4l9jI4zKgH6L6Yk-dkix1FIyyS1xvj2VTcSszLPXzAEAKRJtsUWkbk7L3oZvVosueLR92Yz3Nnq8rTfY2ZGW9RFJzylz/s640/IMG_20170930_212024.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
One last thing, the chainsaw guys. Okay, so, I will admit that walking into this, I kinda had the idea of where they were, and I wasn't really afraid. Mostly. But that's because Kay and Jennifer were terrified, and I almost fell over laughing at them. The chainsaw guys were hardcore killing it on Kay and Jennifer, and it was pure haunted house gold. I couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
All in all, it was yet another exquisite performance and job well done by the Haunted Hotel and the cast and crew that made it happen. Five Stars, folks, well done!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Before anyone thinks I'm reversing any negative reviews, let me stop you there. I don't post reviews as a way to be an ass or because I just don't like you or your haunt because of some unrelated reason. No, my reviews are the accounts of my personal opinions, and I can't change what I experience.<br />
<br />
Actually, this apology is to everyone who was counting on me last haunting season. To those amazing haunters working so friggin hard to provide us all with an exquisite fun time of screams and thrills that I never got to visit and review. To those epic fans of the haunts who were waiting on the reviews and insights to their favorite and new favorite haunts. To the haters that follow me just to be hateful - hey, I'm still on your mind, so how is this not a win for me? To the people new to this blog that really got the worst first impression - I really hope I can redeem myself to you.<br />
<br />
There really is a legit reason why I couldn't do my reviews last season. I won't bore you with the details, but our family grew by 2 last year and we grossly underestimated how much of our time would be consumed. See, we spent a lot of time working with the schools and therapists, and crisis units and hospitals and...well, we ended up being so busy with everything else that fun and haunted houses simply had to be backburnered until we could get our lives right again. Unfortunately, we're still struggling with this, but I'm Hellbent and determined to at least give it the old college try.<br />
<br />
So with that being said, I DO plan to visit haunts this year. Tragically though, Kay can't join me this year. That damn thing called life keeps getting in the way! So I'm working on bringing another partner in crime on board to review with me. I'll keep ya posted on who will be hanging out with us this year as soon as I have an update.<br />
<br />
In the meantime, I ask y'all to forgive and forget, and let's start anew this year with some wicked awesome reviews and this year, we'll give out awards to our faves! Maybe there'll be prizes for the followers too. This year, following and hanging out with us might just benefit you! You never know what's gonna happen. So follow the blog, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Let us know what YOU wanna see, and haunters, please let us know if you want us to come see you this year. It's gonna be a TIGHT schedule, so hit me up soon, because I'm gonna start making rounds this weekend!!Ash Torbeckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07115227673822415273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3263505209778591786.post-46825323190721259902016-09-10T16:54:00.001-04:002016-09-10T16:54:37.504-04:00***UPDATE*** Change in Today's Visit!!Hi haunters and scare addicts! We have a last-minute change of plans!!<br />
<br />
Due to the icky weather and the fact that Field of Screams being outside, we are having to rearrange our plans. As much as we LOVE trampling around in the mud and getting filthy, we decided the adult thing to do is to push this visit back to a *HOPEFULLY* less icky weekend. We're sorry!!<br />
<br />
But the good news is, we're taking on another first-time visit a little outside of Louisville tonight. We're visiting Fear Fair in Seymour, IN, and hoping to get scared out of our wits!<br />
<br />
So stay tuned, there will be live updates (and hopefully interviews) on Facebook and who knows, maybe a giveaway?? Only time will tell, so make sure you like us on Facebook to find out!!<br />
<br />
Fear Fair, we're calling YOU out now!! See you in a bit!Ash Torbeckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07115227673822415273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3263505209778591786.post-70023563187125503442016-09-10T00:50:00.001-04:002016-09-10T00:50:20.649-04:00Here Comes the Haunting Season!With a new haunting season upon us, Locally Louisville has gotten a facelift!<br />
<br />
We have a LOT of new stuff coming for 2016 and we think you're going to like it. Giveaways, live updates, and a crapton (that's an exact measurement, btw) of awesome reviews for your viewing pleasure. We're even planning on awarding some haunts in several categories, such as set design, creepiest creature, and overall scariest haunt, among others. Our social media pages will be alight with activity too, so make sure you follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!<br />
<br />
We're visiting our first haunt this weekend. Field of Screams, we're calling you out! Be prepared to be invaded by two crazy chicks completely obsessed with fear!<br />

We've been quiet lately but that's about to change with the review of Louisville's newest geek spot (and I say that with enthusiasm as a fellow proud geek), Heroes Comics and Gaming!<br />
<br />
I have to make mention of the location really quick because to be honest, we passed it and had to backtrack. It's not totally hidden, but Google Maps put it a tiny bit further down from its actual location - at least for me - and by the time we saw it, it was too late to turn. So be on the lookout, you want to turn onto Lexington Avenue from Baxter Avenue, otherwise you'll pass right by it!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
That being said, we parked and made our way inside through the back door. The first room we went into was the gaming room, where a handful of folks were already engaging in RPG's. We crossed through to the store area, and I have to say I was impressed. The layout and space were functional and the decor was tasteful. There were tables set up for demos of games, other games set out that you could try out, an entire wall of board and card games, Funko toys and, of course, a ton of comics with ample room for growth in all departments. There was a lot of love put into renovating this space and it is paying off.<br />

The owner rang up our order and you can tell he takes pride in his work. Thanks for letting me be awkward and weird and giving us a pic to go along with this! We missed Kevin, but those of you following our blog would know him from the Haunted Hotel - a fan favorite and recurring review venue for LL. We'll catch him next time, though!<br />

The variety of nerd and geek levels offered means there's something for everyone. My husband and I picked up our first RPG game (yes, I'm an entry level geek in this area) and although it tired us out figuring out how to put it together and get started, it's a pretty fun investment that will bring us hours upon hours of entertainment. Check out our spread, and mind the mess, please!<br />

Overall, I can't lie, I love this place. I felt at home among my kind and didn't even have to pre-medicate my anxiety - these are my people. Five stars all around, this is a place I think I'll be frequenting often. (I only wish I hadn't moved out of the area last year!) We can expect a lot of great things to come from Heroes and I can't wait to spend more time there!Ash Torbeckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07115227673822415273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3263505209778591786.post-83441075650904753942015-10-27T16:00:00.000-04:002015-10-27T16:00:01.056-04:00Haunted Review - Baxter Ave Morgue (by Ash)Hiya, folks! So, first let me apologize for my absence and my silence. Between PC issues, migraines, and a lovely head cold/respiratory bug, I've not been myself lately. Not trying to seek pity or make excuses, just reality has been ROUGH lately.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I'm kinda back, the PC is kinda working, I can kinda breathe, and my brain hasn't exploded, so I'll call it a win. And I owe you some reviews!! First up is Baxter Avenue Morgue.<br />

Suffice it to say that after two or three years, we were excited to revisit. The night we went it was rainy and wet and crappy outside, so naturally the line was short. We only waited about fifteen minutes, but I will say it seemed SO much longer because the ghoulies that normally come around and try to scare the people in line were mostly absent, and the ones present were apathetic. One dude did seem like he'd had a wee bit too much sugar and was mildly entertaining, but he disappeared and we only saw him again from a distance. Some of the ghoulies were standing around talking, which wasn't scary but at least it was something to look at.<br />
<br />
We made it to the front of the line and I don't even know how the conversation started but we ended up saying each other's names loudly. Hey, we pay good money to be scared, and when they know your name, it's a little more personal and a little more intimidating! When it was our turn, they called me out first and made me go into this room just inside the door BY MYSELF. I repeat, I was utterly alone with these psychopaths. Let that sink in a moment...<br />
<br />
Now, this was awesome. I thought they were doing some little "Hey, your friend went missing, go find her" kind of schpiel. Nope. They were coming at me with friggin needles, talking in the most deranged voices with these eerie accents and turning the lights out on me and overall making me wanna piss my panties. These guys were GOOD. I was ready for a chicken door, but I sucked it up and followed their direction into the haunt. Alone.<br />
<br />
Oh. Em. Gee. Have you ever gone through a haunt completely alone?? It's intimidating and I was on the lookout for the chicken doors because I honestly didn't think I'd make it without at least one person holding my hand. I started through, and rounded the corner and then...<br />
<br />
Nada. Not one single scare. There were approximately four actors throughout the rest of the haunt, the animatronics were delayed so I had to turn around to see them, the paths weren't marked too well and with no actors to point the way I almost went off the path a time or two. There was one scream and that was when there was a loud burst of air at my feet that I wasn't prepared for. That was IT. I literally went through the remainder of the haunted house waiting for something - ANYTHING - to try to scare me, but then I saw some people goofing off in what looked like a gift shop and I thought I'd finally gone off the path and ended up somewhere I wasn't supposed to be. Nope. Just the end of the line, end of the haunt, please exit through the gift shop (literally), don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya!<br />
<br />
Wait. It's over? Like, when am I supposed to get scared? Is there some grand finale that's gonna make me cry like a baby?<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSpXtzDjia8uWltW1RyJ3A45O-mO_MBZMs93v6t_GnkewX_hJK852F3vZ5R6935E_y6PIfGquahED2Aj6EZvJsHXBUEtZZ-n_PJxcL0OAhxSdJ4V2mKXrYmbxBztEADz7trljFutxpWs3F/s1600/Baxter+Ave+Morgue.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSpXtzDjia8uWltW1RyJ3A45O-mO_MBZMs93v6t_GnkewX_hJK852F3vZ5R6935E_y6PIfGquahED2Aj6EZvJsHXBUEtZZ-n_PJxcL0OAhxSdJ4V2mKXrYmbxBztEADz7trljFutxpWs3F/s640/Baxter+Ave+Morgue.jpg" width="640" /></a>Nope. Worst experience EVER. The only one of the three of us who got anything was Jennifer, who was the last of us to go through the haunt alone.<br />
<br />
<br />
Now, here's a bit of a disclaimer. The night we went, apparently 75% of their haunting staff called in. Well, more than that, but I don't do math. The owner came and talked to us after such a devastating performance and explained that normally there are 40-ish actors inside and that night there were about 10. That's a really good way to make the haunt not scary, and out of the owner's control. What was NOT out of the owner's control was a forewarning of what to expect (since we paid good money for nothing) OR just shutting it down for the night. Yeah, he'd have lost some good money, and that would suck for him. But in my humble opinion, getting crappy reviews from review groups (like us) who paid to be scared and got irritated instead is a much worse blow than losing the money for that night. I appreciate his explanation and apology, but the apology came too late and the damage had been done.<br />
<br />
I give Baxter Avenue Morgue 3/10 stars. The only salvation was the intro. Had that been lacking in any sort of way, this would probably be my first ever 0 star. It wasn't even mildly entertaining once we left the intro area. In all honesty, I thought about going easy on them because of how many actors called in, but the reality is: if I experienced it, so did someone else, and that makes it not okay.<br />

I'm so disappointed, Baxter Avenue Morgue. You made a bad call and ruined our experience because of it. I thought you were above that. Every year my family loads up and travels the short drive to Shelbyville to Gallrein Farms to pick out our pumpkins and for some family fun.<br />

<br />
This year we noticed a few changes, one that particularly hurt the score and broke my heart. The hayride to the pumpkin patch that is ALWAYS free is a thing of the past. It's always been free to ride to and from the pumpkin patch, then you just pay for your pumpkins by weight. So we show up with my husband, my mother, my sister, and my two brothers. Six people. And they are charging $2 per person to just go TO the pumpkin patch. My math sucks, but I'm pretty sure that's an extra $12 that we weren't planning on paying. The only salvation was the fact they had picked out some of the pumpkins and put them in a field within walking distance so you could go walk and pick UP your pumpkins. They weren't on the vines anymore so it's no longer punkin' pickin' but punkin' pickin' UP. When you put it that way it kind of loses it's charm and draw. I was so disappointed.<br />
<br />

Nevertheless, they still had the hay pit, the hay castle, the bales of hay set up for kids to run and jump around on, and the big tunnel for the kiddos to play and run down some of their energy, all for free. Plus a free petting zoo (feed = $) and some paid activities, like a tractor ride, pony rides, bounce houses, and a corn maze. They have a market where you can buy smaller pumpkins and gourds, Indian corn, food/drink, gifts, and other goodies. There is also a tent set up selling food, but the prices are kinda high. Not, like, unreasonable, just higher than I'd like to pay for six people.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-EXd8JkWYuehM3nOKnidqrgHY-aCJDiEaEJXBHcjJC7yY6jVWABw1pGDH4AcQgNeKYyUUySIVrGfaemQzxHRhgA_K2A9MoiS8T_g6dv7K6ZrxO-9Hv3wRWftYW2TDkx7SabpmOn5DZZti/s1600/20151017_151001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-EXd8JkWYuehM3nOKnidqrgHY-aCJDiEaEJXBHcjJC7yY6jVWABw1pGDH4AcQgNeKYyUUySIVrGfaemQzxHRhgA_K2A9MoiS8T_g6dv7K6ZrxO-9Hv3wRWftYW2TDkx7SabpmOn5DZZti/s400/20151017_151001.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
So we ended up walking to the small pumpkin patch and thankfully had a really easy time picking out our pumpkins this year. I guess it wasn't terrible that they changed things up, I like the selection. But I prefer the hayride and having to pick the pumpkins off the vines. It makes it more...involved. Personal. Like, "<i>Pikachu, I choose <b>YOU</b>!!</i>" (I totally need to get a fourth pumpkin named Pikachu now...)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
So all in all, I give it 8/10 stars. We'll go back. We'll be more prepared, but we'll go back.<br />

<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;"><a href="http://hauntedhotelky.com/">Haunted Hotel</a> Review by Michala Tyann</span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;">So this haunt was by far my most favorite last year. It scared the bejeebies out of me. The scenes and themes were spectacular. The makeup and costumes were first rate. The scare factor was off the charts. </span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;">Needless to say, they were going to have a hell of a job getting me to like it as much as I did last year. High expectations and all that. It's really hard to one-up yourself when you've hit a homerun. </span><a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;">So, my thoughts this year. As always, it was truly a pleasure getting to speak with the owner and hear his excitement as he talked about the time, energy, and money spent in making this year awesome. I still had my doubts that he could do as well as he did last year (for me anyway.)</span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;">Waiting in the VIP line (and it's totally worth the extra pennies) was fun. The workers kept us entertained and laughing, even through the cold weather. When we entered, and the wait wasn't long due to the VIP access, the scares began. </span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;">I can't say there was any part of the attraction that didn't please me. I was scared spectacularly. The monsters and themes were pleasing in the most brutal, fearfully fun manner. The animatronics were spot on in their timing and functionality. The actors were precise and always in character. The whole thing was a blast. </span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;">And to top it off...the ending was as big as the big bang for me. I tell you the truth, when I finally exited the hotel I had to stand in one spot for at least a good seven minutes. I was out of breath, shivering and shaking, and my heartbeat...I could feel it pulsing in every single vein. It was superb. </span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: yellow;">I wanted to be very careful with this review because, well, because it was so good, I don't want to provide spoilers. I would put this haunt as being #2 in all of Louisville. Maybe even a tie for first place, it was just so fan-frickin-tastic. It's worth it in all ways to go through this haunted attraction if you are looking for a real good scare. Sure there are other haunts with some nice makeup and things that go bump in the dark, but if you want more...if you want BIGGER...if you want to be SCARED...than this is the haunt for you.</span> </span><br />

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Last year the Asylum Haunted Scream Park was one of the first haunts we hit up and I had such a blast that this year I was stoked to go back. I was even texting Ash telling her to hurry up at work, lie to get out, or even tell the truth to leave early. LOL I was pretty excited. Ask her to show you her text messages...it will prove how crazy psyched I was to get there this year. </span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">And that is where I left my happy place. Sigh. Where to begin? I suppose I should start at the beginning. We got there right as it was opening so the lines weren't long at all. (Last year, at times, we were waiting up to two hours to get into one of the haunts they offered.)I don't know if that was a good thing, the lines being short, or not. Perhaps it was a foreshadowing of what was to come? Maybe. </span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">We went into the Xterminate Mutant Attack first. This is a haunt in which you have laser guns. The layout was pretty neat this year with multiple levels. That was different from last year so it was good to see some creativity going on. There weren't a whole lot of mutants to attack me though. I'd say no more than twenty. I could be a little off (give or take) on those numbers. It had a maze-like sensation to it and was a bit confusing to me. There were some 'Boo' moments in which the mutants popped out and scared us but for the most part I feel I got the short straw on the whole experience. My 13 yr old son really enjoyed himself and even Ash seemed to really like the attraction. She screamed a lot, got scared on multiple occasions. As for myself, 'shrug'. Not a whole lot of wowing me over. </span><br />

This is the nearly one mile trek through the woods. Last year this rocked. This year, it fell flat for me for the most part. Though they had some decent acting, I'll give them that. The church scene was pretty friggin awesome. The trash and slide sucked. I actually twisted my ankle in the heap of trash that was I think was supposed to resemble a ball pit maybe. It just wasn't fun. The ghosts and ghouls that followed me were pretty neat. Still, I don't have a whole lot of good things to say about the haunt as a whole. And there was no big bang ending either. Huge let down.</span></span></span></span><br />

I enjoyed the storyline for the most part last year so I had good, well, decent ratings. This year can't say really much good came of my time in this attraction. It was super boring, lame, very little creativity, and the actors weren't all that good. I didn't even see much makeup and costumes that impressed me. The worst part of it was that there were too many technical malfunctions occurring and groups were catching up with each other. The actors, for the most part, just shoved the groups together and pushed us all through too quickly. I could tell some of the actors were frustrated and disappointed as well. I'm really having to reach to find anything good to say about this attraction. The operating room was pretty neat. I'll give them that, I suppose. And again, no big ending. It just ended...with us back in the open. Nada. Deep regretful sigh. Can you hear it? </span></span></span></span><br />

<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Finally, we waited forever for Asylum's newest attraction. The Zombie Hunting theme. OMG. What a friggin waste of my life spent in the line and on the bus. This is a paintball theme attraction. I was concerned about the quantity of paintballs so I was a conservative shooter. And I still ran out way way way way way early. I spent 70% of my time on that bus sitting with an empty gun. Most of those around me were doing the same. I don't know if it was allowed or not but the actors on the bus, the military folk, were offering more paintballs for $5.00. WHAT THE HELL? This was the hugest let down of the entire haunt at Asylum. Just plum awful. I get that I was a guinea pig with this being new and all. Hopefully they can do something HUGE to fix it. </span><br />

Okay, I have a lot to say here. So stick it out, I promise to deliver!</div>
<div abp="70">
</div>
<div abp="71">
We have reviewed the Haunted Hotel for years, back when it was me and Aly and now with me and Michala. We've seen a lot of scary shit in this haunt. We've seen the good, the bad, the ugly, we've had good times, we've had bad times, and we've seen a lot happen inside Louisville's longest running haunted house, and every year there are new things to see and new fears explored. Let's breakdown what happened when we checked in...</div>
<div abp="72">
</div>
<div abp="73">
<a abp="1073" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhspVMfOTDMFrOn_lmHGvMv-g4kOXyLKJB21z9LXCiF0BA_dAsOI4tpnYbfAqS5yX49CZrVTn2qwatiHT1QucPZwGhEYFG74FyrtgZ8o3yFL5f9gBxKJWKx8Z59D3zSgqBhCLzo0QVc1Pqb/s1600/Haunted+Hotel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img abp="1074" border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhspVMfOTDMFrOn_lmHGvMv-g4kOXyLKJB21z9LXCiF0BA_dAsOI4tpnYbfAqS5yX49CZrVTn2qwatiHT1QucPZwGhEYFG74FyrtgZ8o3yFL5f9gBxKJWKx8Z59D3zSgqBhCLzo0QVc1Pqb/s320/Haunted+Hotel.jpg" width="320" /></a>Okay, so if you've even accidentally walked or driven by this haunt in late September through October, you'll see right away that this is a popular haunt and no cost is spared to make it extravagant. There's cop cars, lights flashing, a parking lot with people waving little lighted sticks at you to stop and park even if you don't want to...lol. It's a sight to behold, but when you get closer and actually stand there waiting, it can be intimidating. We KNOW (sort of) what's waiting for us on the other side of the doors. We still get bouncy with nervous anticipation because there's enough mystery and tension building up to the moment you're ushered inside the doors that you can't help but feel the jitters. Well, I can't. </div>
<div abp="74">
</div>
<div abp="75">
This year the first change I noticed was the missing bellhop, and I was sad. That guy...damn. He got me every year. The new guy though had an interesting purpose and it kinda set the tone for the rest of our visit. He is more of a storyteller, being the original owner who's returned to fix what all the other employees "fucked up." Which makes you wonder...where are they, what did they fuck up, and what the hell is waiting beyond that rope you're moving and ushering us to follow you past?</div>

We got on the elevator - mind you, we KNOW what's coming. We've played this game before. The door closes and without even hesitating I grab Michala's arm and we hold each other in fearful anticipation of what's gonna happen next. Well, Gustav's incredible acrobatics showed that we can't be prepared for his world. Then his velociraptor-like wail...omigosh, I think I can still hear it! How that guy still has a voice left is beyond me!<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div abp="78">
</div>
<div abp="79">
Okay, don't hate me for this, but I can't remember a whole lot between Gustav and the end. The reason isn't a bad one, we were just tossed from one weird ass effed up situation to another and eventually the fear became all consuming. I can remember the horn. I went a little deaf. And the fire effect coming out of the floor...wow! Impressive! There were a couple of sections that were barren, and that was a little bit of a drag, but I don't feel it really had a BAD impact on the experience. If anything, it just kinda made us wonder when and where the next scare was coming from, leaving us clinging to one another in that anxious anticipation again. </div>
<div abp="80">
</div>
<div abp="81">
The end...oh wow. Okay, 99% of all haunts end with a chainsaw guy. Well, this one has a twist and a half. Hell, it has a dozen twists! I'll openly admit I'm rarely if ever affected by chainsaws. They don't get me. Ever. </div>
<div abp="82">
</div>
<div abp="83">
They got me. Bad. Seriously, there was one point where the guy was just on one side of the wall, we rounded a corner, and he was just chilling, waiting for us nonchalantly at the end of the path, and while it was comical, it was unnerving. Then he was behind us. Then beside us. Then ahead of us, then behind us...the effect was dizzying and disorienting, and I was thankful to see the end of the maze finally in sight. Then here he comes again...There were at least 3 guys wielding chainsaws, but I suspect the ghosts of several more decided to play that night.</div>

The effects were amazing, and the props and scenery were impressive. You can see that although some scenes were mostly the same, most of them were totally gutted and reworked. The owner and the ones pouring their blood, sweat, tears, and souls into this haunt have really surpassed my expectations. There really wasn't much I can complain about, apart from the empty rooms. I give Haunted Hotel a 9/10, only because there was one haunt that literally had me crying this year, and there were those empty rooms. Excellent job guys, there's no question as to why the Haunted Hotel is the longest running haunt in Louisville!</div>

It was thankfully a well-marked entrance and a creepy road to drive down at night. That set the mood already. We parked and made our way to the ticket booth then through the corn field. I thought that was a nice touch, because it just keeps you in the mood as you meander your way to the line. Upon exiting the corn there was a traveling freak show complete with a couple of tents for stuff to look at. Honestly, we didn't stop, we were on a mission to be scared and we wanted to git r done.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div abp="3">
</div>
<div abp="4">
While we waited in line (which thankfully wasn't too bad of a wait, maybe 15-20 minutes) we were entertained with fire breathing and sword "swallowing" and as we were led toward the entrance the guy was getting strapped into a straight jacket. Pretty neat, he was really good at entertaining the crowd and I have to give major props to Nightmare Forest for having the foresight to entertain the line. I've only seen that at a couple of haunts, and believe me, when those lines grow long, it's really nice to have something to distract you from the long wait and having to have actual interaction with those around you. </div>
<div abp="5">
</div>
<div abp="247" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a abp="248" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjctI0cG_eKoABUphZf2lbmtehNqTI5UdFc3kDlLW2FQw0Tf7hLEL5Zo1Qts-P2YWcG_F5PCaCWSpxHACdhOYNOF18QQZnaGIdcuuhfSH8saHdcwjp2CvnE2t6KG0hZ1j81OktlTyrW0qAy/s1600/Dead+End+Hotel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img abp="249" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjctI0cG_eKoABUphZf2lbmtehNqTI5UdFc3kDlLW2FQw0Tf7hLEL5Zo1Qts-P2YWcG_F5PCaCWSpxHACdhOYNOF18QQZnaGIdcuuhfSH8saHdcwjp2CvnE2t6KG0hZ1j81OktlTyrW0qAy/s320/Dead+End+Hotel.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
<div abp="6">
So we are led to the entrance, and the first part is the Dead End Hotel. Now, I remember when the Dead End Hotel was it's own separate haunt somewhere out in Shepherdsville (or that area) a few years back. It was deplorable back then, and it was mediocre this time around. At least it was an upgrade. The acting was pretty good, I'll definitely give credit to the actors. I mean, it wasn't really terrifying and relied heavily on the "BOO" factor (startling you, not scaring you) but they had pretty decent timing. The scenery wasn't bad. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. Really kind of forgettable. I'd give that section a 5/10. It was just really halfway there for me.</div>
<div abp="6">
</div>
<div abp="6">
Next up was the Trail of Terror, if I understood it correctly. Okay, this was pretty decent. The acting got a little better, the scenery was a little better, but this was the first part that was on a wooded path. And I have to say they didn't do a very good job of evening the ground out where the path was. Nor did they mark it very well, there were multiple times when we started going off the path because they either shone bright lights in our eyes so we couldn't see anything or they just failed to mark where to go. I can't give a good score for accessibility (I know, that's not on the criterion page, but it was enough of a factor I have to add it here) and it made it a little frustrating. The props and scenery were above average, and some were pretty badass. I recalled from previous years that there was fire, but it surprises me every time, and I like that. Also, the actors had some pretty good hiding places. Some didn't, and it was totally obvious. Like, if you see me looking at you, don't even bother trying to pop out to scare me, get someone who isn't looking right at you, you know? Still a solid B effort on this part, I'll give it a 7/10. </div>
<div abp="6">
</div>
<div abp="6">
Then we get to the actual Nightmare Forest where the movies come to life. Now, it's incredibly difficult to scare me with movie monsters. I grew up watching these guys and gals religiously and in fact the first movie memory I have is of Hellraiser. Not Bambi (though I did see it) or any Disney movie. Hellraiser. So I can't really give this a fair scare factor score. I will admit to a few screams but they were startles, not real fear, so my score on this one won't really factor in the scares. In fact, Freddy didn't even try to scare us, he just kinda loomed and tried to appear scary but the makeup/mask/whatever was on his face wasn't believable or even resembling the movie Freddy. Some building structures didn't have actors or animatronics in them, and there were a few rooms that I didn't even recognize as movie scenes, and when those two negatives were in the same room, I have to admit it was pretty lame. Some of the effects were cool, some of the props were pretty decent, and the layout was pretty nice. But we ran into the same problem with tripping over tree roots and going off the trail. One point I stood there looking at two different paths leading to two different structures and just had to guess because neither looked like it was the right way. I dunno, it was just another halfway haunt for me, but still better than the Dead End Hotel. I guess I can give it another 7/10.</div>
<div abp="6">
</div>
<div abp="6">
So overall for the entire experience I'll give a 7/10, and that's with the freak show saving it. I'm sorry, I just wasn't impressed and I'm a pretty easy scare. It was better than past years, but still just missing the target in so many ways.</div>

<br />
This was not that experience.<br />
<br />
Let's just start from the beginning. It was a rainy night, and the line was thankfully covered. The owner graciously upgraded our tickets to speed passes to allow us to bypass the line, which while it earned us a few nasty glares, it was incredibly appreciated considering the weather! We met with the owner and he even let us take a pic with him and his pet rat.<br />
<br />
Okay, so we go inside, and having been there before I'm already expecting the first surprise as we approach the Devil, so I lead the way and then stand off to the side waiting for the "boo" moment. Okay, so the Devil? He was an ass. I mean, not that I expect the real Devil would be kindhearted and sweet or anything, but this guy asked me what I was doing hurrying into the room and then told me to go to the back of the line. Um. No. I paid for my ticket, I wanna get scared, I'm not going anywhere. So when I refused and kinda laughed at his efforts, he beckons these two little kids (and I mean, like, the oldest had to be no older than 8) and their family forward, thus putting the three of us in the back anyway. What the hell? I don't look for preferential treatment, but I expect to be scared and I expect to get my money's worth. I don't expect to be told where I get to be in the group, this isn't grade school and if I got there first, I deserve to be in the front.<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
So we start going through and rather than having actors and animatronics popping out and trying to scare the whole group, these jokers focus on the two little boys. I get that they figured they would be an easy scare, but if they'd taken the time to actually TRY to scare the other half of the group, they would have realized I'm a screamer and all three of us are easy scares. (Really! We're not that hard to scare!) Which means we got to walk along behind this group and watch them be assaulted by the monsters and actors. Great fun, really. I enjoy spending almost $20 to be not even amused.<br />
<br />
Well, whatever, during some of the twists and turns our group managed to get in front again. Good, right? Oh, no, They STILL focus on the little boys, one of whom is screaming and crying in pure terror. He had to be like, five. Maybe six. FAR too young to even be allowed into a friggin haunted house, even if the parents are complete morons who either don't care about the kid's psychological welfare or are too stoned to realize how traumatizing this would be for him. So we don't get any scares. I think I screamed once, and I honestly think that was a fluke.<br />
<br />
Where I WILL give props is to the Saw maze - that was tripping everyone up and there's the moment of pure horror when you think you've tried every path and can't get out. (Of course, we didn't reach that point because we caught up with at least one other group and we heard everyone else saying what they tried that didn't work, so we only had to try two doors before we found the way out.) But it was a nice design for the room itself. Just enough to make you afraid you'll never leave. Also, the props and scenes were pretty good, although admittedly there was a lot that didn't change over the years. We didn't get to visit last year and I remembered quite a bit from the year before.<br />
<br />
Oh, and I have to mention the chainsaw guy at the end (everyone knows there's a chainsaw at the end, just about every haunt does it). So we're walking out, he comes out of the corner where we totally already saw him lurking since he didn't even try to hide, waddled along with us to just before the door leading out, then gave up and went back to his post. Even the little kids didn't get scared by him. Way to go, chainsaw guy, you win the award for most apathetic chainsaw guy ever.<br />
<br />
There were a few things I liked. The all-too-short visit to the set of 13 Ghosts was pretty cool, but too brief. The Jackal was great, very realistic and probably the only character to really get up in our faces. I love Hellraiser and that scene wasn't TERRIBLE, although we didn't really get scared or even get to spend much time with the Cenobites. Oh, and the Vietnam guy with the metal plate? Exquisite acting, my good man!<br />
<br />
So, we spend a good deal of money for a 7-11 minute walkthrough that didn't frighten us at all and we left feeling like we probably should've asked for a refund. I almost didn't have the heart to post this because I really hate giving bad scores, but I don't have it in me to lie or omit this review from my posts. It was a sad event, and we left brokenhearted at the experience.<br />
<br />
3 out of 10 stars. Vietnam guy and the good props/decorations saved it from a 1. I was just so disappointed in this haunt, especially since I remember it being a good one from past experiences. I really hope this visit was just a bad night with cranky actors...Ash Torbeckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07115227673822415273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3263505209778591786.post-54317783404828412942015-10-02T07:00:00.000-04:002015-10-09T23:59:18.425-04:00Haunted Review: Danger Run - By Ash ***SPOILER ALERT!!*******SPOILER ALERT**** ****SPOILER ALERT**** ****SPOILER ALERT****<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
In order to give good honest feedback, some details of Danger Run and it's haunts will be disclosed. No, we will not tell you the names or locations of the haunts. Not even if you beg. Not even if threatened. (Actually, we're kinda freaky, we might like that...)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay, so we visited the infamous Danger Run again this year, and the expectations have never been higher. Partially because we've been doing this a while so we like to think we're getting good at the clues. (We're not.) Partially because the price went up this year, and while we understand inflation, that only made us expect more. Partially because Danger Run had two of their OWN haunted houses that are exclusive to Danger Runners, plus a third public haunt that is pretty widely known. (Nope, still not saying which one!) <a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It began at Lowes on Hurstbourne. Easy enough. We figured out the first three clues before we left just so we could ensure we wouldn't get lost THAT early. (Somehow we still did.) Michala drove, I rode shotgun solving the clues, and Jennifer was in the back helping us look for whatever the clue indicated. The first two turns we nailed. The third...well, I dunno if the folks that mapped it out miscounted the lights or if they were on something magical that made them see an extra light, but the third clue tripped us up pretty badly. We would find out at the first haunt that we weren't the only ones, but that's neither here nor there. For us it's not about the mileage, it's the fun. After the first frustration, we got going smoothly again. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
That was until we realized how NOT good we are at solving clues. Tree lickers? Omigosh, we literally went EVERY way possible before we realized what the clue meant. Of course, once we realized it we felt like morons. OH! And don't be rash...oh for the love of Halloween, do NOT be rash. You will mess up BAD. Lol! Let's just sum it up to we got lost multiple times, we suck at limericks, and Danger Run is very good at being very confusing. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
One super cool thing that I have to mention here is that if you tweet to Danger Run while you're doing the run (preferably NOT the driver...MICHALA!!!), they will live tweet with you. And send you horrifying pictures that make you almost need a diaper in the car...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So we get to the first haunt, and thanks to Twitter we already know clowns are involved. (I should also note here that not everyone will visit the haunts in the same order!!) And I'm literally trying to muster up the courage to brave the clowns. The line was practically nonexistent, so we basically handed the lady our tickets and walked in. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now, you know clowns are involved, so let me just dwell on the whiteout tunnel for a moment. Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to see a friggin clown coming at you when the only thing you can see is white? There were these strob-y lights in a totally white tunnel-like...I'm sorry guys, I just don't have words for these things. It was a damn nightmare. There was no way to mentally prep for anything because you could literally see nothing until it was too late and the clown made you his victim. There were frights all around, and although there weren't many actors, I personally felt like this did not take away from the fright. We were rushing to get out. Our hearts were pounding, our adrenaline was raging, our fear was at times almost paralytic, and there were even a few giggles along the way. I mean, they were short-lived, but they existed if only for the briefest of moments.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After facing down one of my fears, we sped into the night in search of the second haunt. Me being the impatient one that I am, I skipped ahead to the last clue just to see what it said, and my heart froze. But we'll come back to that...<br />
<br />
There we were climbing higher and higher, going around curves that literally made me gripping for the "Oh Sh*t Handle" for dear life. Not kidding. I also happen to not like twisty, windy roads, so I was scared stupid. Then we found out why we shouldn't be rash as we were following another set of Danger Runners who clearly didn't figure out the clue right! Hopefully they're not still lost out there. We still made a few mistakes and one clue was a little iffy as to whether or not it was our fault or theirs, but we still found the way to the second haunt despite the frustrations and confusion!<br />
<br />
So. The second haunt. Have you ever heard of arachnophobia? Yeah. BIG TIME arachnophobe here!! The minute I read there would be spiders, I about lost it. When we pulled up there was a bit of a line (we believe it was either a shift change or break) and it did nothing to ease my nerves. Once the line started moving we inched closer and closer to what I could only assume would be my final moments and final breaths. Then Michala had the cute idea to start tickling my arms and neck like bugs were crawling on me. That was a bad idea, cause I jerked, slapped her hand away, and it flew back into Jennifer's face. So if you see her with a black eye, it was Michala's fault!<br />
<br />
Lucky me, I was first to enter the haunt. Only a few paces inside and I clawed my way to the back of the line. I can't even describe the haunt, guys. I can't. Not because it was bad - it was AMAZING. But I can't describe it because I was so incomprehensibly terrified that for the duration of our time in this second haunt, I was literally blinded by fear, and all I can recall is the overwhelming number of spiders EVERYWHERE. And a couple of actors that I buzzed past. OH! And the mack daddy of spiders that even made Michala say, "I can't. I just CAN'T!" To which I responded with, "JUST F***ING GO!!" We were practically running out of the haunt, laughing at ourselves and trying to get the images that would be the source of nightmares and lots of sudden ninja moves for the following few days out of our memories. I can't speak for the others, but I personally can't shake the image of those horrific little bastards. I'm not too proud of this, but I was crying the whole way through. I almost couldn't make it through the haunt.<br />
<br />
Yeesh! My skin is twitching just remembering those ugly demonic things!<br />
<br />
By the time we got out of the spider haunt, we were cutting it close on time, so we just drove straight to the next haunt rather than follow the clues. (Sorry Danger Run, your clues were too good and we took too long to figure them out!) We can't say which haunt they chose, but they chose pretty well for the Finale Haunt. In past years it hasn't been my favorite but it definitely wasn't the worst. This year I was far more pleased with the experience!<br />
<br />
As for the run itself, I give it a 8 out of 10, only because I think some of the clues were just a BIT too challenging and/or had potential errors.<br />
<br />
For the first haunt, I give 9/10. I have to, I really wanted some more clowns and I simply cannot score it the same as the second haunt.<br />
<br />
The second haunt I give 10/10. The fear induced with so little actor interaction was incomparable. I have literally only been this afraid one other time, and that was when Michala had to drag me out of the haunt because I was curled in a ball crying. This was pretty freaking close to that! Actually, it might be the most truly afraid I've ever been. No. It truly was the most afraid I've ever been. I can say with absolute certainty I will never go through that haunt again. I love you, Danger Run, but you have scarred me for life.</div>

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: yellow;">
Upon arriving to this haunt, the rain was finally letting
up. Lucky us! We got in the very short line-like six people only. We were
already a little concerned because there were no outside entertainers. All we
saw was, behind us in the dark alley, five or six people standing around. We
wondered if it was possibly some actors on a break maybe. Finally we got our
first entertainer. A short, thin guy who acted like he had severe mental
problems. He wasn’t really suited up to look scary but his acting was kinda on
point. I had to wonder if there actually was something wrong with him. </span></span><a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: yellow;"><o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: yellow;">When we finally got up to the front door, and it didn’t take
long, we were a bit surprised and, honestly, somewhat baffled. The three
gentlemen were totally in the mindset of freaking us out. They asked our names
and then began calling us by our names and opening and shutting the door,
letting us hear them tell whoever was beyond the door, inside the ‘morgue’ our
names. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: yellow;">We were then led in…one person at a time. This is what
weirded us out a bit. Never have we been asked to go in alone, apart from the
gang. But we played along, of course. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: yellow;">Ashley went in first and was in there for some time before I
was allowed to enter. When I went in, I was led through another door into a
room, decorated all Halloween-ish. Now, I can’t delve too deep into what was
said and who was in here because I’m against spoilers if I can possibly not do
so. But I will say a bit about my brief experience in this room. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: yellow;">They totally messed with my head. The madness and creepiness
was well thought out and terrifically portrayed by the actors. There were
definitely moments where my back was against the wall and I was feeling the
chaos settling into my stomach with chills running down my back. The entire
scene was well done. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: yellow;">That is about all I can say for this haunt however. Sadly,
due to the rain and other issues, the rest of the haunt was ill-equipped to
take on visitors. So much so, that when I got to the end I was curious and
confused. The manager came up to Ashley and me and apologized for the issues
that they were having. He asked us to come back when things were fixed
properly. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="color: yellow; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My scoring can only be towards the initial room/scene. The
rest, I sadly cannot give anything towards. It would be irrelevant as I was unable
to experience the true haunt in its fullest and best aspect. </span></div>
